SILKYPIX Developer Studio Pro, judging by its name, is not your average image editor. It is an application with advanced functions for users who already know more than the basics of the photo or image adjustment process. Despite this, I found the program to be less intimidating than originally anticipated. Don't get me wrong, you can use it even if you are a beginner, but you won't be able to unlock its honest true potential.

Although it is aimed at power users, it manages to keep a tidy and organized interface. Functions are easy to discover and are accurately labeled. The interface is a perfect mix between a simplistic design and a modern approach that fits well with current minimalist standards in OS aesthetics.

Functions are situated in various drop-down menus and toolbars situated on the interface of the program. On the right side, you have the retouching options with plenty of space for fine the tools themselves. For example, using the Tone option will require the user to input values in terms of Contrast, Contrast center, and Gamma. Likewise, any other tools like paintbrushes and cropping tools will require the user to adjust the tool to the needed standards.

The best part about this program I thought was the fact that files can be added in bulk. Multiple layers are also supported, so you can work on each particular element at a time or go for editing and have more projects opened at the same time. Regardless, even when having multiple files opened for editing the interface seems to be able to handle the crowding, keeping the same airy aspect.

This is especially helpful if you are a professional looking to keep all things in check without having to adjust them from time to time. You save time and increase your productivity without much effort. That's a win-win situation, if I ever saw one. It is important to keep in mind that for such applications, customization is key and it can only rightfully shine if you, the user, have the knowledge necessary to adjust its sliders to offer the best possible outcome it can, thus unlocking its true potential.
