Fractal Zoomer

Fractal Zoomer is a lightweight software application whose purpose is to help you view and generate a wide range of fractals.

Since this is a portable program, it is important to mention that it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry.

You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you need to design fractals on the fly, without having to go through installation steps.

Although it comes bundled with many dedicated parameters, it sports a clean and intuitive interface.

The program gives you the possibility to select between various fractal types, such as Mandelbrot and Julia sets, Barnsley types, Nova, and many others.

You can zoom in or out, switch to a full screen for a better focus on your work, choose from different planes (e.g. fold in or out, trigonometric planes), set the initial value, pick the color from the built-in palette, adjust the HSB and RGB values, as well as use several coloring algorithms for altering the image.

What’s more, Fractal Zoomer lets you specify the photo size, apply random colors to the fractal, set the maximum number of iterations, as well as enter the rotation angle in degrees.

The utility offers support for a rich-featured set of filters, such as anti-aliasing, edge detection, sharpness, blurring, emboss, contrast/brightness, color temperature, fade out, inverted colors, grayscale, and others.

Last but not least, you are allowed to export the fractal to an image file format (BMP, PNG, or JPG), save data related to the configuration settings to DAT file format, and use hotkeys.

During our testing we have noticed that Fractal Zoomer carries out a task quickly, and provides very good output results. It is not quite friendly with system resources, so the overall performance of the computer may be affected.

All things considered, Fractal Zoomer proves to be a reliable application that comprises a decent set of features for helping you design fractals.
