Images are used to enhance nearly anything that surrounds us. From add banners to magazines and textures, these use a carefully selected picture. However, in order for a specific image to be suitable for its intended purpose, it undergoes a more or less thorough post-processing, done with various applications. Redimensionneur is one of them and lets you bring multiple images to a given size.

You don't require a sophisticated configuration in order to properly run the application. It takes little space on your hard disk drive and the amount of system resources used is not something to worry about.

All tools put at your disposal are carefully arranged in an easy to use interface. A list displays imported items along with details such as name, path and size. Loading image files is easily done by dragging them over the main window, or using the dedicated function. Once you are happy with the selection, hitting the “Launch” button almost instantly generates the new files.

There are several options you can set before putting the process in motion. Width and height need to be specified in pixels, whether or not to keep the aspect ratio, as well as cut images in order to fit size.

A custom suffix can be included and the output format set to match the original, or one of the most commonly used. The application also lets you create a set of thumbnails from the same images to which you can apply similar settings.

Photos can be enhanced with a watermark in order to have them personalized. This is done either with a piece of text or a different image. Several preset positions are available to choose from, as well as a custom position by imputing distance from borders.

To sum it up, Redimensionneur is a handy application that lets you quickly resize more pictures at once. It's not the best of its kind, with no effects that can be applied. The interface lets you quickly accommodate due to the simple design, making it good to keep around when working with images.
