Picture Convert to Hex II

Picture Convert to Hex II is a lightweight Windows utility designed with a single goal in mind: to help you embed messages in photos and make the background color black or white.

Since this is a portable tool, it is important to mention that it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry. You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you need to edit your photos on the fly.

The program sports a clean and intuitive GUI that gives users the possibility to add the items to the list by using the built-in browse function, so you cannot rely on the “drag and drop” support.

Picture Convert to Hex II works with a total of three file formats, namely JPG, BMP, and GIF. By default, the utility saves the processed photos to the same directories as the original images.

This is a simple-to-use application that doesn’t come packed with many configuration settings. It enables users to insert HEX or BIN information into the selected image or add their own text messages.

You are allowed to pick the color quality, select the background color (black or white), and make a list with colors to be ignored during the process.

Where it falls short

On the downside, the program doesn’t offer support for batch processing, which means you cannot upload multiple files to the list and process them at the same time.

During our testing we have noticed that Picture Convert to Hex II doesn’t carry out a task very quickly. Of course, the time needed to complete the job pretty much depends on the configured settings. However, it doesn’t eat up CPU and memory, so it doesn’t hamper system performance, nor interfere with other programs’ functionality.

All things considered, Picture Convert to Hex II packs only a few options for helping you insert messages in photos and customize the colors. Although it cannot be described as the most powerful tool on the market, it does what it says and is suitable especially for less experienced users.
