AVI&WMV is a simple-to-use program which allows you to encode video files of various formats (including AVI, MPEG and WMV) to the WMV and AVI extensions. The tool can be seamlessly handled by users of any experience level.
The interface of the application is plain and simple to navigate through. Video clips can be imported into the list by using the file browser only, because the "drag and drop" method is not supported. Batch processing is allowed.
In the queue you can check out the source path, size and output destination of each video clip. So, after you click the "Convert" button, you can specify the output directory and proceed with the encoding job.
The simplistic video conversion program takes up a moderate amount of system resources, quickly finishes a task and manages to keep a fair image and sound quality in the output files. No errors have occurred during our tests and AVI&WMV did not freeze or crash.
On the other hand, the interface is outdated, there is no help file available and you cannot configure audio and video settings (e.g. frame rate, aspect ratio, sample frequency rate, channel mode) or program options (e.g. enable AVI&WMV to automatically turn off the computer after conversion). We recommend you look for something more advanced than AVI&WMV at the moment.
