Convert AVI to MP4 is a simple application that allows you to encode videos of the AVI format to the MP4 extension.
The interface of the program consists of a standard window in which you have limited options.
So, all you have to do is open the AVI video by using the file browser (the "drag and drop" method is not supported), set the output destination and name, and initiate the conversion process.
During this time you can view the progress of the tool. When the task is completed, no window pops up but you can still check out if the conversion was successful, on the bottom part of the screen.
The program finishes an encoding job in a short amount of time while using a very low amount of system memory and CPU. No errors have popped up during our tests and Convert AVI to MP4 didn't freeze or crash. The sound and image quality in the output files is very good.
However, batch processing is not supported, which is the application's biggest disadvantage (but you can open multiple instances). Furthermore, you cannot change any kind of audio or video settings (e.g. sample frequency rate, aspect ratio, codecs), preview the source video, and more.
Although Convert AVI to MP4 doesn't come with advanced settings, it is a straightforward and stable program. We mainly recommend it to first-time users.
