AviSplit Classic is a easy-to-use tool that enables you to split an AVI file into multiple parts.
The interface of the program is plain and simple. You can import a video by using the file browser or the "drag and drop" method).
So, you can select the splitting method (optimal, median, smallest) or just input the number of parts you want to divide your movie into (i.e. custom splitting).
Furthermore, you can preview the video, go to beginning or end of it, select the output base name and directory, and then initiate the splitting process. Once the job is completed, a window pops up to inform you about the success or failure.
In addition, you can put back together AVI pieces (you don't necessarily have to rejoin all of them, but just the ones you want), so AviSplit Classic is also a video joiner.
In this list you can view the file name, IDX, duration, batch identity and location. Plus, you can save a project for further editing, set the default output directory, extract the AVI header, and more.
The program uses a low-to-moderate amount of system resources and can take a very long time to complete a task. But no errors have occurred during our tests.
Although the interface could use some improvements, we strongly recommend AviSplit Classic to all users, whether they are beginners or experienced individuals.
