JSubtitlePlayer is a small software application designed specifically for helping you play subtitles in a clutter-free and transparent window which makes it suitable for being positioned over movie players without subtitle support. It can be deployed on all Windows versions out there, provided that you have the Java working environment installed on the target computer.

The utility is portable so you can save it on USB flash drives or other portable devices to have it with you all the time. Plus, you may run it without having to possess administrative privileges. The tool can be opened straight from the storage device.

You can gain access to its features by running the executable file because you do not have to go through an installation process. It’s easy to get rid of it in case you no longer consider it useful because a simple deletion task does the job. It does not leave remnants in your Windows registry and create additional configuration files.

JSubtitlePlayer reveals a simple layout that allows you to tweak the dedicated parameters in a short amount of time. There’s no support for a help manual, but you can quickly get an idea about how to make the most out of the program’s features because they look easy to work with.

SRT files can be imported in the workspace using only the built-in browse button (the drag-and-drop support is not implemented).

The application offers you the possibility to view the content of SRT files displayed directly in the main window. Plus, you are given the freedom to set the opacity of the workspace pretty easily thanks to the built-in slider and preview how the adjustments look like.

Several playback-like buttons are implemented in the GUI for helping you play, pause, or stop the current SRT subtitle file, go to the next or previous text line in the file, as well as check out the remaining time.
