MC-TVConverter

MC-TVConverter represents a graphical interface for using various command-line tools in order to convert video files from one format to another. It offers support for remuxTool, HandBrake, FFmpeg, MEncoder, ComSkip and ccextractor.

The setup procedure does not take a long time to finish. A notable aspect is that MC-TVConverter is able to create a copy of itself to run directly from a pen drive, thus enabling you to launch the GUI on any computer with the aforementioned console tools installed. It does not modify Windows registry settings and you can carry it on a USB device in your pocket wherever you go.

The interface has a clean aspect and neatly organized layout. Video clips can be added to the task list using the file browser only, since the drag-and-drop method is not supported. Supported file formats include MPG, TS, M2TS, AVI, MP4, WMV and MKV.

It is possible to read stream information for each console tool, specify a folder to watch for automatic video conversions, as well as indicate the preferred format for the new clips, such as DIV, MPG, MKV, WMV, FLV and MP4.

You can choose the saving directory and specify an automatic post-task action, such as moving the original file to another location or renaming it. Subfolders can be included in the directory monitor, and you can be a little more specific by naming files. MC-TVConverter also lets you create a file renaming pattern, pick the favorite language for files with multiple audio streams, and so on.

There were no kind of issues in our tests, since the app did not hang, crash or pop up error messages. It has a good response time and minimal impact on computer performance, since it runs on low CPU and RAM. MC-TVConverter comes packed with numerous configuration settings for converting video files using popular console tools, and it is mainly geared toward experienced users.
