i-Covers is a straightforward Windows application designed to help you search for movie covers and download them to the local hard disks with a few clicks.
The application comprises an important collection of websites hosting movie covers, so you need to define one before anything else.
In fact, the whole process comes down to three simple steps: input the movie title, choose the database and hit the search button.
The application also boasts a settings menu that allows you to configure the connection and even set up a proxy server to access the available online databases.
By default, i-Covers can only look in one single database at a time, which is more like a drawback given the fact that some less-known titles could hardly be found online.
The settings menu comes to the rescue though, providing a dedicated option to search more databases at the same time, but keep in mind that this further increases the overall time needed to complete the search.
i-Covers is an app that gets along very well with all Windows versions on the market and doesn’t need administrator privileges to run on Windows 7. Still, the program becomes unresponsive every once in a while on Windows 7, so it’s better to run it in compatibility mode.
All in all, i-Covers is a handy piece of software that still needs some improvements to cope with today’s requirements. A revised interface with more appealing elements, a larger collection of online databases and a faster search engine could make it a lot more attractive.
