Those who enjoy listening to their music locally know the value of a good audio player. Although even the built-in solution should get you by just fine, it’s not something you have to settle for, so all you have to do is look around and weigh your options.
MRT Player may seem like a blast from the past for many. If you’ve been around in the late 00s and early 2010s, then its layout should be all too familiar. Besides enabling users to enjoy their favorite tunes with ease, the program also gives you various tools: play around with the available effects, tweak the equalizer for a more personalized sound, create playlists, and why not, sit back and enjoy the spectrum view.
The player has a minimalist design whose focus is to help you enjoy your music undisturbed and without much intervention. Playing your tunes is essentially as easy as selecting their location on your drive. There are two ways you can do this: use the AB button to select an individual song, or add a folder as a playlist to play everything from it.
Playlists can then be saved for future use, so all you’ll have to do is select the appropriate .MRT playlist file generated by the program. In any case, I was able to enjoy my music without any issues.
Users have a couple of ways they can customize the app for a more targeted experience. Visually, there are numerous themes you can use to get a different UI look, and there’s also the option of using the Spectrum view during playback to be more in tune with your music.
Equalizer and effects tools are likewise built into the software. Enable the equalizer and tweak your frequency ranges to get the most out of your speakers or headphones. If you’re feeling more adventurous, you can include various audio effects to dramatically change the presentation of your audio.
MRT Player takes a decidedly simple approach to music playback without taking away any control from the end user. As such, those looking for a music player with this kind of design will likely find a lot to appreciate here.
