QuickTime Alternative plays QuickTime (.mov .qt) files without having to install QuickTime player

Components

QuickTime codecs - Required for playing QuickTime content.
QuickTime plugin for Internet Explorer - For viewing QuickTime content that is embedded in a webpage. This is installed together with the QuickTime codecs.
QuickTime plugin for Firefox/Mozilla/Netscape/Opera - Allows you to view QuickTime content that is embedded in a webpage.
Additonal QuickTime plugins
MPEG-2 plugin.

DirectShow filters:
Note: These filters are NOT needed when you only use Media Player Classic to play QuickTime files.

QuickTime DirectShow parser
For opening QuickTime files in DirectShow based players (e.g. Windows Media Player). This filter works correctly with most files, but not with all files. To play QuickTime files, you also need to install the decoder below.
QuickTime DirectShow decoder wrapper
For decoding various QuickTime audio and video formats. For decoding H.264 video and AAC audio, which are the primary formats in QT7, you need to install separate filters. Those filters are also included in this pack.
CoreAVC
For decoding H.264 video. You don't need this if you already have a H.264 decoder (such as ffdshow) installed.
CoreAAC
For decoding AAC audio. You don't need this if you already have an AAC decoder (such as ffdshow) installed.

QuickTime Alternative will allow you to play QuickTime files without having to install the official QuickTime Player.
