Growler Gun Cam is a tool that you can use to record your desktop activity.
Once you initialize the program with the user-friendly interface, you can set up the triggers for "toggle" and "hold".
So, all you have to do is press the hotkey for "toggle" and then do this again to stop the recording.
You new video will appear in a list, where you can view its name, date and time of creation, size, dimensions and duration.
The videos displayed here can be sorted according to file age, size, name or duration. Plus, you can set the location where they will be saved.
Moreover, you can preview videos in a built-in media player and export them to the GIF, JPEG, AVI or GCF (i.e. Growler Gun Cam project file) format.
In the video editing section, you can set the starting and ending position, import another GCF file for exporting, set the playback speed, erase the destination file and add effects (e.g. black and white, "tunnel vision", blur, line effect, dust, speckle).
But you can also configure the video export setup when it comes to the default JPEG export directory, AVI (e.g. use uncompressed AVI or DivX codec) and GCF export options (e.g. use compression).
Furthermore, you can access "Movie Editor" to add sound from a file or film, input a commentary, as well as join multiple videos, export film and sound.
In addition, you can modify capture settings by setting the video and capture window size (full screen or a particular position). Plus, you can specify resource limiters, set sound notification and stop capture triggers, as well as select the capture method and real time video compression options in "Advanced Setup".
The program takes up a small amount of system resources and includes a quick step-by-step guide. No errors have popped up during our tests but Growler Gun Cam crashed several times, when we tried to open the help file. Otherwise, we strongly recommend this tool to all users.
