Straightforward and simple-to-use networking utility that finds the IP address of a host and allows you to use the Ping and Traceroute functions. #Resolve hostname #Trace route #IP ping #Ping #Hostname #IP
WhoSock is a simple-to-use networking utility that enables you to find the IP address of a host and send the Ping and TraceRoute signals.
It does not come packed with complex features or configuration settings, so it can be easily handled by anyone, even those less experienced in software dedicated to the network.
The setup procedure does not take a long time to finish, and it contains only basic options. As far as the interface is concerned, WhoSock adopts a single window with a straightforward layout, where you can enter the host name or IP address and click a button to find out the official host name, along with the host aliases and addresses.
Triggering the Ping or TraceRoute commands brings up a console window with results. It it possible to resolve IP addresses and to empty the MRU list. There are no other noteworthy features available.
The tool is undemanding when it comes to CPU and RAM, and it immediately scans the host to show information. No error dialogs were shown in our tests, and WhoSock did not hang or crash. Although it is not particularly feature-rich, this app delivers simple solutions to finding information on IP addresses.
