We all know how important it really is to handle PDF files the right way, so choosing an application to do this operation is quite important for all of us.
In case the Acrobat Reader frenzy hasn’t got you too, Foxit Reader might be the tool your were looking for.
Specifically designed to work with PDF files in the easiest way ever, Foxit Reader is a nice downloadable application that serves its purpose pretty well: it opens PDFs instantly without bothering the user too much and, at the same time, offering him or her some very interesting goodies.
Downloading and installing Foxit Reader doesn’t take too much time and this is great since the whole idea is to help you get in touch with your PDF files.
You will be prompted with a configuration wizard straight from the first run, so that you can be sure that everything will be okay while using Foxit Reader. What we really liked was the Trust Manager function, which is actually some kind of safe reading mode that doesn’t allow the opening of links and websites directly from a PDF file.
Foxit Reader has a pretty eye-candy interface and in case it doesn’t really fit you, there’s always the option to change the skin and go for another color scheme.
There is also a rich settings menu, which means almost every single bit of its functionality can be more or less adjusted, including the Trust Manager thing we were talking about.
All in all, Foxit Reader is a great replacement for Acrobat Reader. And one important thing is that it comes with a free license and works on every single Windows version out there, so why don’t you give it a try right now?
