Softpedia Editor's Review for PDF Password Remover
|
Can be used to decrypt protected Adobe Acrobat PDF file
Written by Elena Opris on November 11th, 2011
PDF Password Remover is a tool that enables you to remove passwords previously stored on PDF documents.
Make a note of the fact that this software will not work if you don't know the password, so it will not attempt to crack anything.
The interface is very plain, and there aren't any other options besides opening a PDF document, inserting the user and/or owner password, and choosing the output directory, so the program is straightforward, but very fast. Removing a password is almost instantly done.
The trial version unfortunately has its limits and annoying parts. When you select to open a PDF, a pop-up window emerges, constantly reminding you this is a trial version.
Also, PDF Password Remover “converts” only the first half of pages found on the initial PDF document. And every time you open and close the unprotected document, the same irritating pop-up window appears.
If you have any questions about the features found in PDF Password Remover, you can access the help file. It basically describes everything the tool can do.
This is a pretty useful application, but only works when you know the password to the PDF file. That basically means you can only remove passwords of your own files. So, it's not helpful if you, for example, download an encrypted document with an unknown password, or if you forget the password of your own files, for that matter.
The CPU and memory this software uses is fair, and the price for the full version is a little too much for what it can do. But PDF Password Remover comes in handy.
