PDFZilla is an application which enables you to convert PDFs to Word files, images, text documents, HTML and SWF.
The program comes with a user-friendly interface in which you can import PDFs by using the file browser or "drag and drop" method. Batch processing is allowed.
So, you can specify the output location and format (e.g. DOC, RTF, PNG, BMP), and proceed with the conversion process (the output directory is automatically opened when the task is finished).
Furthermore, you can disable the conversion of the first page and last page, add PDFs from a folder, as well as disable the sound reminder.
The application runs on a low-to-moderate amount of system resources and quickly finishes a conversion task without causing us any issues along the way.
There is a brief step-by-step guide with snapshots available for beginners, but it doesn't explain what values you are allowed to input in the 'first page' and 'last page to convert' options (e.g. "1" enables and "0" disables them).
In addition, PDFZilla seems to have problems with table conversions (in case of PDF-to-Word) and with the overall layout of the page in PDF-to-HTML (e.g. images, tables and special characters found in other languages besides English are not converted). Also, it failed to convert PDFs to JPGs during our tests. Plus, the trial version is severely limited.
All in all, PDFZilla is a good program concerning PDF conversions but it needs to come up with some major improvements before we can confidently recommend it.
