Speaking Notepad

Speaking Notepad is a small application that comes with text editing and text-to-speech features.

Upon launching the program a simple interface is shown. You can type the text directly into the main panel or paste the information from the clipboard.

More than that, you can import various files, such as TXT, RTF, DOC, and much more. The files can be added either using the browse button or the drag-and-drop support.

The tool is pretty straightforward and it can be mastered by any type of users, be they professionals of not.

Once the text is written or imported, you can make use of the text-to-speech feature by simply pressing the 'Play' button.

With Speaking Notepad you can save your text to TXT, RTF, or HTML format, print it, and perform editing operations (e.g. cut, copy, paste, delete).

You can also choose the text's color, size, font, and font style, search for words and replace them, add time stamps, and much more.

This software utility comes with wide range of different speech voices, letting you choose the one that suits you better. You can select the speed and the pitch of the voice.

Speaking Notepad helps you record all of your typed/opened text items or just specific bits (e.g. selected text, clipboard contents) and save them to one of the three available formats: MP3, WAV, or WMA.

The program efficiently works with shortcuts that cover most of its functions. For example, you can use a combination of hotkeys, such as 'CTRL-N' to open a new file, 'CTRL-F' to find the text that you are looking for, and many others.
