comicsJolt! Light is a lightweight and efficient piece of software developed for systems using Windows 8, as it can only be installed from the Store.

The application’s main purpose resides in helping you manage and read your local comic book collection in a simple and fun environment.

On the first run, you will be able to decide the default storage directory for your books, browsing through your computer and opening it in comicsJolt! Light.

The main window displays the detected comics and indicates the one you are currently reading, so you can return to with whenever you want, on the exact same page where you left it.

comicsJolt! Light supports both CBR and CBZ format files, enabling you to open them and view their contents without too much effort. All entries are listed in queue, allowing you to access the one you feel like reading with a single click.

From the options bar, you can also open a file from a different location, or pin the default folder to your Start Screen. The ‘Show History’ feature lets you check what are the latest things you have read, being able to restart from the same place you left off, if you had not finished.

When reading a comic book, you can browse through the pages using the left and right arrows. Optionally, you can set comicsJolt! Light to ‘Read Right to Left’ which can come in handy for certain types of books. In terms of visualization preferences, you can ‘Fit to Width’, use a ‘Smart Two Page View’ or ‘Lock Orientation’.

To sum it up, comicsJolt! Light is an intuitive and easy to understand program for Windows 8 that can assist you in viewing the contents of CBR and CBZ files from your computer, enabling you to access them all from a single location.
