GENViewer is a dependable tool that works with such files, helping you view the genealogical information stored in GED databases. In order to properly work, the program requires Internet Explorer installed and running on your computer.

The application allows you to view information stored in GED files, or other similar ones, such as those created by PAF, TMG, Legacy, RootsMagic or Family Tree Maker. By doing so, you can analyze genealogical information coming from various sources, while maintaining data layout.

The program provides you with several views for such information, in order to ensure a thorough analysis of the data. For instance, you can see the full pedigree tree of an individual, or work your way to his first ancestors, navigating through each of his close relatives, whilst reading extensive details about each one.

GENViewer helps you analyze the content of GED files, and check the descendents of an individual, in order to check inter-familial ties and connections. This helps you find out a person’s family tree, determining their origins and geospatial spread. You can briefly analyze the major events in the life of each individual, which could help you better understand the way its genealogical branch spread on the geopolitical world map.

Aside from this, you can easily filter the information stored in your GED files, and specifically locate data about any individual by searching for certain keywords.
