Ultralingua English-Latin Dictionary

Even though Latin is a dead language, it’s still significant today as many historical pieces and art, and religion still refer to it. If you need an app that acts as a English-Latin dictionary, Ultralingua English-Latin Dictionary can help you with that.

The interface has a pretty modern-looking feel to it, almost emulating a browser, so finding your way around the app won’t be much of an issue, just keep in mind to use the search field located at the upper right corner.

Also, on the UI’s left side, you can notice the tools provided by the app, each categorized and neatly arranged.

Regarding the first and most interesting feature is the simple dictionary. The operation is pretty straightforward, type a word in the search field and all the related results are going to be listed down in the worksheet.

If you need to conjugate a word, pick a tense from the combo menu and the app will automatically conjugate the word. For numbers, you just have to write the numeric form and the tool will convert it to words, allowing you to exercise and also to develop proficiency with Latin.

The flashcard method is an already established way of learning a new language, but unfortunately, Ultralingua English-Latin Dictionary has no preloaded flashcards, so if you want to take advantage of this feature you must create/acquire a set and manually add it to the app.

Focusing on the internet related entries won’t take you anywhere as the “Translate” option is the Google’s old translating system,  “Discussions” are closed and the “Examples” are redirected to google search.

Ultralingua English-Latin Dictionary is a neat dictionary that can help you with word translation as well as word conjugation but won’t do much regarding flashcards and other internet related features.
