WordWeb is a dictionary that provides you with an impressive database of definitions, synonyms and other kind of tools.
There's a possibility of installing this application as portable (if you access advanced settings during installation). It means that your Windows registry entries will not be changed, but that you can also place WordWeb on an external device and run it on any computer.
The user interface is plain and simple to use. You can look up a word by inserting it in the search box, or simply use the Ctrl + Right-click combination on a word.
In the results, you can view the nearest word, the noun, verb, adjective and adverb form of the respective word (wherever is the case), synonyms, antonyms, "Type of" and derived forms.
Furthermore, you can access a pronunciation feature, related words and online references (from three major websites). But you can also view results in a web browser, create and sort bookmarks, as well as view a random word.
In addition, you can change the text font, reassign hotkeys, copy a selected word, set web references, delete installed dictionaries and configure preferences, such as show offensive words (with synonyms and suggestions) and show synonyms as root words.
The program uses a low amount of system resources, comes with a step-by-step guide and we haven't come across any kind of difficulties during our tests. We strongly recommend WordWeb to all users.
