Developed in Visual C# .NET 2005, XZCalc is a free and open-source application that enables you to perform calculations involving complex matrices, quaternions and scalars.
It supports millions of decimal places, Fast Hartley Transform to speed up long multiplies, separate input and output notations (base 2 to base 36), transcendental, hyberbolic and greatest common divisor functions, in addition to modulo arithmetic options, Bernoulli and Euler numbers, Euler's constant, Boolean, Gamma and Psi functions, a random number generator, along with if..then..else and goto statements.
The setup procedure is speedy and the only notable aspect about it that you must have .NET Framework installed.
At startup, you can specify the maximum digits in a number along with the maximum commands to store in history. Settings can be restored to default.
The main window has a simple look and neatly organized structure, where you can enter the text for creating a matrix as well as view log details.
When it comes to configuration options, you can set the maximum decimal digits allowed by XZCalc, decimal digits in mantissa, maximum digits and digits to truncate in display, digits to group in display, input and output base, along with the execution priority.
Moreover, you can enable diagnostic mode, save logging details to file, specify the calculator code file, or make the frame stay on top of other open windows. These settings can be saved to file and later restored. Keyboard shortcuts are supported.
It worked smoothly in our evaluation, without causing the operating system to hang, crash or indicate errors. Calculations were carried out fast while CPU and RAM usage was minimal.
Although it hasn't received updates for a long time, we haven't experienced any compatibility issues with newer Windows models. Thanks to its wide range of features, XZCalc should meet the requirements of many users looking to perform complex matrix calculations.
