pElement

Everything around us relies on scientific rules we have somehow managed to write down in theories. This knowledge is taught in school, with chemistry being one of these courses. However, education is greatly enhanced by computer programs nowadays, and pElement is a suitable example, letting you find out all there is about the Periodic Table of Elements.

The design is composed of multiple components you can keep active on the desktop. The main window shows the Table of Elements, with additional description fields fitted with visual support for easy understanding. It’s also the place where additional info windows can be brought up.

Interacting with an element from the main window brings up a small info box. On the bright side, it displays a rich variety of info starting with the basics and general information, to registry numbers and major mining locations. The small info window can be used to navigate between other elements, but also access other info areas like physical properties, electron inf, and more.

A built-in search function makes it easy to identify elements according to different text strings. An alternative table window can be brought up to show physical state, metal state, isotopes, and radioactive state. Moreover, cool color highlighting cleverly points out to elements of interest, with corresponding legend details.

The application comes with more info fields in the form of windows to help study superconducting materials, activity series of metals in aqueous solutions, fundamental constants, and more. Additional tools come in the form of a unit converter and infrared peak analysis. Unfortunately, there’s no option to export data.

All things considered, we can state that pElement is a powerful learning utility which is sure to almost all there is to know about elements around you. Info panels are accessed in individual windows for easy management, while range of info covers technical, and basic details.
