Portable virtuAMP

This is the portable edition of virtuAMP, a software application that includes numerous effect pedals for a real-time virtual guitar amplifier. Its options are quite intuitive.

Since installation is not a requirement, you can just drop the executable file somewhere on the hard disk and click it to run. It is also possible to move virtuAMP to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any computer with minimum effort.

What's more, the Windows registry does not get new entries, and leftover files are not kept on the HDD after eliminating the utility.

The interface is made from a single window, where you can start a new project with essential, recommended, playback, or all effect pedals.

The complete package includes a speaker cabinet, noise gate, compressor, boost, octave, distortion, overdrive, fuzz, automatic wah, envelope filter, ring modulator, chorus, flanger, phase shifter, tremolo, vibrato, equalizer, delay, feedback loop, parallel feedback loop, and reverb. For each effect you can make adjustments, such as threshold, decay, power, tone, distance, gain, shape, depth, and rate.

It is possible to add and remove components, change their position on the screen, set the cable display mode (linear, Bezier, complex Bezier) as well as save the configuration to file for further projects. You can select the audio driver, buffer denominator and FPS, as well as edit playback and recording properties.

The program has a good reaction speed and uses very low CPU and RAM, so it doesn't affect overall performance. No error dialogs have been shown in our evaluation, and the tool did not hang or crash. Thanks to its highly intuitive interface and options, virtuAMP caters to all types of users, regardless of their skill level.
