IcoFX Portable is an application that you can use to create and edit icons and cursors.
Since it is a portable product, installation is not required. So, you can place IcoFX Portable on an external drive and run the executable file on any computer. Also, there will be no changes to your Windows registry items.
The interface of the application is similar to the one of a standard graphic editor.
So, you can use basic tools, such as rectangular selection, magic wand, crop, move, brush, line, rectangle, text, fill, eraser, blur, brighten, color picker and ruler.
In addition, you can rotate or flip the image, select colors from a palette, preview results, zoom in and out, as well as fit the image to screen.
Furthermore, you can apply various effects, such as emboss, blur, sharpen, edges, glow, pattern, paint dark, drop shadow and shake. But you can also adjust the brightness, contrast, saturation, color balance, opacity, shadow, fadeout, image size, and others.
Plus, you can duplicate a picture, create a Windows icon, cursor or snapshot from it, use a batch processing tool, change the interface language, display tips on startup, and much more.
The software takes up a low-to-moderate amount of system resources, includes a step-by-step tutorial with snapshots and didn't freeze or crash during our tests.
The bottom line is that IcoFX Portable is an excellent tool for creating and designing icons and cursors, and we highly recommend it to all users.
