Easy Screencast Recorder Portable

This is the portable edition of Easy Screencast Recorder, a straightforward piece of software designed to record a part of the screen and save it to ASF and other video formats.

The application comes packed with an intuitive set of options that should be easy to figure out even by those less experienced with video capturing utilities.

Since there is no installation involved, you can put the program files in any part of the hard disk and just click the executable to run.

There is also the possibility to save Easy Screencast Recorder to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any PC with minimum effort and no prior installers.

The interface is made from a regular window with a clear-cut structure, where you can get started by selecting the area you want to capture, between selected region, selected window and entire screen.

You can include sound after picking the audio source, as well as specify a name to quickly identify the saved file. Recording starts with the click of a button.

Easy Screencast Recorder lets users preview videos and capture frames, browse the folder with saved clips, delete the last video, as well as save the current configuration to an INI file for further use.

The program is capable of automatically running at system boot, starting minimized and going to the tray area on close. A hotkey for starting and stopping the video is supported and can be changed into something else. You can include or exclude the mouse cursor, change the output format into FLV, MKV or other file types, and so on.

Easy Screencast Recorder is light on the system resources, has a good response time and worked smoothly during our evaluation, without hanging, crashing or popping up errors. Unfortunately, the quality of the saved videos is not very good. Other than that, Easy Screencast Recorder should please most users.
