It is a data recovery program for various flash cards types (SmartMedia, CompactFlash, Memory Stick, etc.)

editor's review

Portable Flash File Recovery is a powerful data recovery tool especially aimed at Flash storage media, be it a memory card or a USB removable drive.

Since it was developed to work with Flash media, Portable Flash File Recovery can be used to recover the common image formats out there, including JPG and BMP, but it can also work with Canon CRW, Nikon NEF or Kodak DCR proprietary formats.

It’s more important to note that Portable Flash File Recovery is a very user-friendly app and you shall discover this from the first run.

It all comes down to a wizard that guides users throughout the entire recovery process, requiring them to choose the source and the files they wish to restore. A media preview tab is also available to help you preview the items to be recovered.

The scanning process doesn’t take much time, with plenty of information displayed, including total sectors, read and bad sectors, progress, data loss and files found.

As for efficiency, Portable Flash File Recovery didn’t manage to recover all accidentally removed files during our testing, but at least it restored some of the items blazing fast, without any negative impact on system performance.

To sum up, Portable Flash File Recovery is a helpful product that really deserves a shot. It is fully portable, which means that you can use it on the go without prior installation.
