Kript is a lightweight and intuitive piece of software designed with one purpose in mind, namely to help you encrypt your online conversations, thus ensuring that no third-party individuals can intercept your Internet messages and use them to their benefit.
The program is fairly simple to understand and work with, requiring no previous experience with similar software. The tool makes use of the popular OpenPGP encryption to cipher the messages you send online.
However, keep in mind that you do need to create an account, which you will then use to log in to Kript, as you will be assigned a public and a private encryption key, along with an identification sequence (a code of numbers and letters that will be used to identify you and your account).
The application displays your current 'Country' and 'IP Address' in the upper right corner of the main window, along with your unique 'r-ID'. This identification string will come in handy when you wish to communicate with friends through Kript, as you will be able to exchange your 'r-IDs' and message each other, while benefiting from the encryption capabilities of this tool.
At the same time, the utility enables you to connect with your Facebook account in order to encrypt any conversation you might be having with another Kript user through this social networking's chat. Optionally, you can start Kript as soon as you log in to your Windows account, while also being able to save or remove your messaging history.
It is quite visible that Kript is under development, as some sections of the application could use improvement. However, Kript can prove quite handy in protecting your online privacy, ciphering your conversations and securing the transfer of any sensitive data, helping you reduce the risk of your data falling into the wrong hands.
