Licence Protector from Mirage Computer Systems administrates licences and modules (license manager and control), generates Demo- and time limited versions (trial versions), provides you with software copy protection and supports concurrent user (floating license) testing.

Automatic licence generation in Online shops is possible (e-commerce option). The Web Activation Server allows activating a licence online.

Binding to a Hardware Component

Volume ID
This method restricts the user to run the application only on the specified drive volume.

MAC Address
The MAC Address (Media Access Control) is the hardware address of a network adapter. This is the recommended and securest method.

Hostname
The windows PC name is unique within a network and can be used for copy protection.

The user can move the application from PC 1 to PC 2, but the application can only be started from the PC with the licensed hardware. The end user has to transfer an Installation Code to you. This Installation Code is then bound to the licence file or to the Activation Key.

All copy protection schemes work on servers or workstations. If the licence file is on a server, then the hardware (Volume ID, Mac Address or hostname) of a server is used. If the licence file is on a local machine, then the hardware of the local machine is used.

Licence Protector comes in 3 editions to satisfy different requirements: Starter, Basic and Professional Edition.

Limitations:

· 30 days trial
· The Licence Generator sets a date when the license will end - it is 10 days added to the current date
· Each Activation Key sets a date when the license will end - it is 10 days added to the current date
· The Expiry Date can not be modified
