Check if the programs installed on your computer are highly-rated and if not, move them to trash or remove them for good to avoid exposing to unnecessary risks. #Detect junkware #Remove bloatware #Software uninstaller #Junkware #Remover #Crapware
It's common that newly bought desktop computers or laptops ship with pre-installed applications and, while some might be useful, most are not. Known as bloatware or junkware (or the more popular crapware), these unwanted programs end up slowing down your computer and nagging you to purchase them. Avast Software Cleanup is one of the tools specifically designed to help you get rid of such apps.
At first launch, Avast Software Cleanup runs a background scan of your computer to identify installed applications and gather information that will help it delete all leftovers, in case you decide to remove an app.
In a few moments, you are presented with a simple interface that shows you the scan result. If your computer does not contain unwanted apps, a simple message is displayed. Otherwise, if poorly rated apps are detected, Avast Software Cleanup enables you to move them to the trash or completely remove them.
The extended user interface also shows you information regarding highly-rated apps, alongside the poorly rated ones. And while Avast Software Cleanup doesn't recommend the removal of such programs, the choice is yours to make, but you have to be careful not to damage your system.
Avast Software Cleanup uses its own uninstaller to remove an application, meaning it doesn't call the official uninstaller of the product, so as to avoid additional offers during the process. System software or drivers make an exception in this case.
Another option is to move an app to the trash, whose content can be restored if needed, provided Avast Software Cleanup is still installed on your PC.
Avast Software Cleanup deals with unwanted apps on your computer and, while it already remembers a variety of apps with good or bad ratings, it is also configured to learn and improve as you rate newly installed software.
No matter if you decide to send an app to the trash or erase it for good, it is advisable that you allow Avast Software Cleanup to create a system restore point before each operation, just to be on the safe side.
