PenProtect

PenProtect is an intuitive application designed to password-protect USB flash drives, in order to prevent unauthorized users from accessing your sensitive data. This tool is very useful in case your flash drive gets lost or stolen.

In order to use PenProtect, you must save the executable file to the USB flash drive in question. Its interface is made from a regular window with a well-organized interface.

All you have to do is type in a password and confirm it, in order to encrypt the pen drive. From this point on, all files on the drive in question are locked. Decrypting them is done in a similar manner, in just a few easy steps.

You can select the encryption method between total and partial, as well as password-protect only particular areas of the flash drive, instead of all files.

The straightforward program runs on a very low amount of CPU and system memory, has a good response time and performs an encryption or decryption job swiftly. There's also a help file available.

No error dialogs have been shown throughout our evaluation; the app did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. Although PenProtect has not been updated for a long time, it delivers a quick solution concerning flash drive encryption.
