Handling digital data in general requires some attention, especially in terms of backup and restoring. Digital photographs, if lost or misplaced, can literally turn vacation’s memories into a thing of the past. Addressing image recovery for those who find themselves looking for accidentally deleted or overwritten images is what RecoveryRobot Photo Recovery will do, through a series of tools meant at helping users regain possession of their precious photos.

In similar fashion to other programs from this developer, RecoveryRobot Photo Recovery makes no exception and it offers its functionality through a single tab. Automatically identifying the available partitions comes as a standard with this program.

Scanning the preferred partition went uneventful during our test and rendering the resulting, available files is quick and efficient. A useful “view” feature will allow one to change the way that files are displayed, this way being able to have a thumbnail preview, for easier identification.

Although the application is meant at recovering digital photographs, it will also detect the other files available on the partitions. This can be seen as minor drawback, but the solution to avoiding this is also provided.

Two search filters can be applied, namely “Graphics” and “Multimedia”, which will help users narrow down the search results even more, for increased efficiency. A dedicated image viewer will also allow one to preview the available files into text, Hex or actual image format.

By no means is this a comprehensive recovery suite for digital photographs. But its limited functionality manages to provide a simple yet capable set of tools for those who need to regain access to their lost image files.
