HP Recovery Manager 5.5.2202 Rev. A

A backup and recovery solution for HP notebooks
HP Recovery Manager addresses HP PC owners that want to restore their system to default factory settings when encountering problems of all sorts keeping them from accomplishing tasks in a comfortable, friendly environment. This particular piece of software works with PCs shipped with Windows 7.

In some specific cases, your operating system, regardless of its maker, can start acting weird due to virus infections, driver conflicts, hardware failure or just the ordinary misuse or really bad computer management altogether. HP is one of those computer brands that offer an semi-automated solution to this kind of issue.

HP Recovery Manager is the name of that exact solution and its target is the complete restoration of data to a default state with, or without backup of personal information you may still have on the computer. Being able to start your computer and boot into Windows 7 is all you have to do if intending to install this application.

There are workarounds in case your PC does not boot into the OS including the F11 key being pressed right after the system powers up to go to the built-in recovery manager or using recovery discs you can order from HP directly or burn them yourself aided by HP Recovery Manager, on another HP computer.

Once deployed, HP Recovery Manager does not require more than a few clicks and a restart to be performed. First of all, we would recommend you disconnect any USB devices as well as any post-installed hardware components such as hard drives or graphics cards. Once the system reboots and you enter the program once more, the real process starts.

You can choose to use the Microsoft System Restore service or the Startup Repair Tool. As long as none of them works for you, then System Recovery with its corresponding Factory Reset option in the next screen is what you want. HP Recovery Manager offers a backup solution if you find yourself in the position of not being able to prior to this point.

As this process is totally optional, you can skip it and go straight to the main operation of reformatting the Windows partition of your hard disk drive followed shortly by the reinstallation of the original software. Upon operation completion, the PC restarts once more and the Windows installation starts. At the end of it, your computer will be as good as new.

A few words of advice: install security software before plugging in the network cable, update it as soon as you connect to the Internet, perform Windows as well as HP updates in order to provide your system with protection and good functionality right from the fresh start.

HP Recovery Manager can work wonders on Windows 7 preinstalled HP systems. It may prove to be the perfect “getaway vehicle” once the PC comes to sudden death due to any software-related problem. Always backup your most important work and let HP Recovery Manager do the rest. With it, you can have your operating system up and running like on its first ever start in record times.
