Test the performance of your processor in a customizable 3D scenario which gathers all the right data and shows it in a list to compare with other CPU makes and models. #PC benchmark #Software rendering #CPU performance #Test #Tester #Performance
Surely enough your computer might be pretty buffed, fitted with top notch hardware components. However, there are different ways to tell just how good these perform, with various tools known as benchmarks. For instance, Fract Benchmark wants to push your CPU to the limits in a series of customizable tests.
A cool thing about it is that it doesn’t take you through a setup process, which means, on the one hand, that you can carry it around on a thumb drive to check the status of multiple computers. Don’t worry about the health status of the computer you run it on, because it’s not affected since registry entries remain intact during the whole operation.
The visual design is fitted to help you easily go through all configurations, thanks to tab support. You can easily switch between basic, advanced options, as well as results browser. There’s a list of CPU makes and models to choose from, but the lack of recent updates prevents the application from displaying modern hardware components.
On the other hand, and exact selection of the CPU type isn’t required, because the application is capable of reading info from your computer. The CPU options on the list are only used as a means of comparison in the results browser to help you get an idea how powerful your processor is.
As far as the test itself is concerned, the application runs a 3D simulation in two different environments. You can enable different quality attributes like blur or antialiasing. Needless to say that it’s highly recommended to cease all other activities during the process so that reading can be accurately done.
Bottom line is that Fract Benchmark might seem a little outdated because of the rather poor selection of CPU makes and models on the list, but it does automatically read the correct one on your PC, and displays accurate results in the end, making it worth your while overall.
