001 File Manager

With the help of 001 File Manager you can easily split files into multiple parts as well as put them back together. This is a feather-light tool with intuitive settings that doesn't require installation. Even first-time users can quickly figure it out.

You can save the program's files in a custom location on the HDD and just click its executable to launch 001 File Manager. Alternatively, you can save it to a pen drive to run it on any PC effortlessly, in order to merge and split files. Fortunately, it doesn't modify the Windows registry configuration.

The interface is represented by a large window divided into three separate panes dedicated to file merging, splitting, and program settings, respectively.

When it comes to file splitting, you can indicate one or more files to break apart into multiple pieces. The file list shows the name, size and parts count and size, file path, and destination for each item.

It's possible to specify the size of each piece in a preferred measurement unit, or to establish the number of total parts you want to obtain at the end of the task.

As for file merging, it's very simple, since all you have to do is indicate the first part of the file. Just keep in mind that the remaining pieces must be in the same location as the first one.

As far as program options are concerned, you can disable automatic checkups for updates at program startup, associate 001 File Manager with .001 files, and switch to another UI skin. Settings can be reset to default.

No error dialogs were shown in our tests, and the software utility didn't hang or crash. It had minimal impact on the overall performance of the machine, using low CPU and memory.

Considering its intuitive and straightforward options, 001 File Manager can be used by anyone who wants to quickly split and merge files without worrying about complex settings.
