AutoRename description
AutoRename helps assign every file an unique name
AutoRename helps to solve the problem of certain repetitive file saves being tedious due to the need for every file to have a unique name.
For example, if you had a number of pictures that you wanted to scan and save on your computer, many scanner programs require you to ‘scan’, and then ‘Save As…’ for every picture.
Often, these programs will remember the last file you saved and place that as the default in the ‘Save As…’ dialog but they do not automatically change the filenames. You are then left to either to give every photo a new name or save the new photo over the old one defeating the purpose.
Don’t you wish you could just tell that tedious program to name the files, ‘Photo1.jpg, Photo2.jpg, etc.?’ Well now you can come very close to that functionality with AutoRename.
AutoRename will watch for a file with a specified filename to appear and then rename it with a numerical counter as part of the name and move it to the directory specified.
Minimizing the dialog box will make the program only appear in the Windows System Tray.
