Easy File Rename

Granted, Windows provides you with at least three methods of easily renaming files on your computer, namely via Explorer, Command Prompt and PowerShell. Without denying their efficiency, sometimes neither of the options is enough for batch renaming hundreds of files at the same time.

Easy File Rename is a piece of software that allows you to rename files and directories on your local drives using a template with your own user-defined rules.

First off, you should know that the application does not come with a standalone interface, but rather you can access it from Windows Explorer's context menu. You can change a file's name by selecting them the standard way from Explorer, setting the parameters and then hitting the Rename button.

The highlight of the tool stems from the fact that you can create a rename template that includes the parameters that make it simpler for you to find the desired photos or documents. The model can include one or multiple values such as prefix, postfix, extension, enumerator, filename, etc.

Moreover, you can replace words or phrases in the name seamlessly and specify whether you want to alter the file name registry. Lastly, the program allows you to preview how the new filename appears, a feature that can help you figure out whether you added too little or too many parameters.

Although it does not include a standalone interface, Easy File Rename can come in handy when you need to rename files in a way that makes them readily accessible and searchable.
