If you use Microsoft Outlook on a regular basis, then you probably know that PSTs (short for Personal Storage Table) are files that store basic user email data such as messages, journals, accounts, folders, attachments, appointments and contacts, just to name a few.

You might image that packed with all that information, PST files can reach extremely bulky sizes of up to 50 GB (in the case of the latest versions of Outlook), making them quite a handful to manage.

Subsequent to its surprise-free installation process, you are met by a compact and clear-cut main window that provides you with quick access to all the functions. Working with Split PST Pro is quite easy, mainly since everything is on display right in front of you.

There are no toolbars, menubars or hidden menus, just a main window where you load the PST file. After the file is loaded, the app displays its contents in a visible panel. As mentioned before, you get the options to split the PST files by size, folder or by year.

You are now at precisely half length of the splitting process, as now you only need to choose the output location for the smaller PST files and click the designated button for starting the process.

As expected, the utility creates the files at the specified locations and, since the contacts can not be split, you only have to choose one of the following options.

You can choose to merge all contacts in every split file, to merge all contacts in the latest split file or to ignore the contacts that need to be added. Subsequently, the app displays a list of all your split PST files and a general report.

Split PST Pro is a lightweight and unpretentious software solution for splitting large PST files. Considering that feature-wise it is very similar to other PST splitters out there and the fact that it works without problems, there is not actually something you can reproach it.
