BlackArmor Discovery Software
Having storage devices attached to the network allows all users in the LAN to access the stored content in a comfortable manner. However, the existence of some components may not be evident straight away.
In the case of Network Attached Devices (NAS) servers from Seagate there is the possibility to detect their presence using a software utility from the manufacturer. It is called BlackArmor Discovery and its purpose is to reveal the aforementioned device.
Quick installation, straightforward looks
Installing the tool is a simple process that can be completed by any type of user with absolutely no problem. All they have to do is follow the instructions on the screen until the task is finished; there are no attempts to push third-party software on the system.
Looks are plain and simple, with a minimalist interface that shows everything in plain sight, although there isn’t much available.
Automatic detection of the storage devices
As soon as started, the application begins its search for the servers available on the local network. When an item is discovered the user has the possibility to access the shared folders.
Additionally, the application allows the user to open the BlackArmor Manager utility that can be used for making modifications to the server’s settings or to enable monitoring it. Furthermore, the tool includes options for creating safe copies of the files on the computer.
Simple NAS discovery utility
Working with BlackArmor Discovery is far from being a difficult task. Handling it is suitable even for the beginner user, although making modifications to the functions and options of the servers is a job for the more advanvced.
