Power Magic

Power Magic is a simple system tool that allows you to control the power options on your computer with the use of an auto-hide panel.

The application is easy to install and is ready to use immediately after. It creates a system tray icon from where you can directly access all its functions or you can move your mouse cursor to the left or right side of the screen to access a panel which holds the same features.

Power Magic displays a minimalistic interface which makes it accessible and easy to use by just about anyone. The icons for the commands that you can give your computer are large and self explanatory and there’s even an option to toggle hints for them in case you are unsure that the button you are about to click does what you think it should.

With Power Magic you are able to issue various commands to your computer such as stand by, shut down, hibernate, log off, restart and lock. The application allows you to set the time after which the computer can resume its activity when put into either stand by or hibernate mode.

In addition to the above mentioned functions, it also enables you to run your screensaver, turn off the monitor and mute the sound on your computer.

Power Magic makes it possible to use a custom plan when your computer is powered in both AC and DC modes. You can choose the one you want from a drop-down menu and view the times after which the display or hard disk will be turned off along with other information.

To sum things up, Power Magic is by all means a handy tool to have around when you want quick access to power related functions but you do need to look out for one little glitch. It’s possible that when using the ‘Stand By’ function, your keyboard will stop working after you resume activity. A simple unplug and plug back in should solve this issue.
