The new Windows 8 from Microsoft brought some of the biggest changes of the operating system in the last few years. WinMetro is a small tool that brings the new interface to your computer, regardless of what version is running on the computer.
The program has a simple user interface that should make it quite easy to handle, thanks to the intuitive layout.
Thus, once installed, an interface that emulates the new Windows main frame takes over the screen. You may view the time and date, access the photos directory, view the latest news and the current weather, the stock evolution and the programs on the computer. Furthermore, you may access several programs, such as the Internet Explorer, Bing, Maps, SkyDrive, Facebook and Twitter.
Additionally, from the right-side area of the screen, you can view the programs that are running on the computer.
Accessing the sidebar enables you to select the network, control the volume and shut down the computer.
If you access the desktop, you can run the computer as you normally would and the program can be brought to the front again by selecting it from the task bar.
The bottom line is that WinMetro is a nice tool that can be nice to have on the computer, especially if you don’t want to upgrade to Windows 8 just yet. Less experienced individuals should find it easy to handle, thanks to the intuitive layout and its overall simplicity.
