Argus Monitor Review by
4.0/5

It's well-known that, if you want to properly monitor your machine's components, use of third-party software is recommended. The Task Manager only provides rudimentary information about your parts, so users have to look for software that is comprehensive yet comprehensible.

As with lots of software applications, there's no shortage of solutions on the market. Argus Monitor is one of them, and it aims to provide users with detailed information about their system in an easily digestible manner, along with a tray functionality that allows one to monitor their computer's thermals at a glance.

While setting up the app is business as usual — just install it to the usual directory, and go from there. Boot up the executable, and you'll be greeted by a few graphs detailing your computer's thermals. CPU and GPU temperatures are shown in there, as well as the HDD's. The CPU Temp graph also provides per-core temperature measurements.

If you wish to view those graphs in a more condensed manner, the Overview tab provides one graph that encompasses the thermals of the aforementioned components.

Additional information about your hard-drive can be found in the S.M.A.R.T. tab, which makes use of the drive's self-monitoring functions to fetch the data to you. Read and written data units, host read and write commands, power on hours and cycles, and so forth, are all freely accessible.

Watch the tray

The gist of those graphs can be incorporated into your tray. As in, the temperatures of your components can be observed right from there, so you can have an immediate idea about the status of your parts.

CPU and GPU Temperature and usage, as well as the hard-drive's temperature can be readily seen and accessed through the tray.

If you were looking for a tool that quickly allows one to monitor their machine's temperatures, Argus Monitor might do the trick. It's easy to set up, and the tray functionality is always nice to have.
