View thorough details about processes, registries, services and network connections, with options to terminate and set priority the easy way. #Manage process #Terminate process #Application manager #Terminate #Explore #Manage
Every application that can run on your PC creates a process and service which can most of the times remain active, using system resources almost for no reason. Windows puts its default task manager at your disposal so you can analyze and terminate those you consider shouldn't be active. There are also advanced alternatives that provide better details and let you manage more operations, which also seems to be the case with SterJo Task Manager.
The application comes either with an installer package, or as a portable version you can use on the go.
If you've ever spent at least a few seconds to get to know the Windows Task Manager, accommodation is the least aspect you need to worry about. What makes a difference is the abundance and depth of details you can get for any of the running processes.
These are displayed in a list with info such as path, CPU usage, priority, digital signature, description, company and version, with options to sort the list according to these categories. Oddly enough, CPU is the only monitored resource, with no field or option to view memory and disk usage, except for the total amount.
You're not limited to processes. Other areas like registries, services and connections ca be accessed through the clever tab implementation. Displayed in a similar manner, you can analyze all entries referring to areas mentioned above. Corresponding operations are either triggered through toolbar entries or through the context menu.
The application is capable of handling what you through at it, but its set of features doesn't cover anything Windows task manager can't, at least in recent iterations. Startup items are nowhere to be found, not to mention removal or now additions. What's more, functionality feels a little flawed every now and then, with the application leaving the impression it's constantly about to crash.
SterJo Task Manager isn't necessarily a powerful replacement for default task managers, but rather a simple alternative. It does a good job at gathering and displaying thorough details regarding target apps and processes, but it doesn't cover enough areas and operations to be amongst the pro.
