XP CD-Key Finder
XP CD-Key Finder is a compact and portable application which enables you to retrieve lost or forgotten serial keys to Windows and Microsoft-related products, such as Office.
As installation is not an issue, you can just drop the executable file anywhere on the hard drive and run it directly.
Alternatively, XP CD-Key Finder can be moved to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any workstation with minimum effort.
What's important to keep in mind is that the Windows Registry does not get entry updates, and files do not remain on the hard disk after removal.
The interface of the program is based on a standard window with a plain and uncomplicated layout, where some quick tips are shown in the main frame. The WYSIWYG concept clearly applies to the tool, as there are no other options available, aside from the ones visible in the main frame.
Therefore, you can display the keys of installed products on your workstation with one click of the mouse button; shown results include the IP address, user and computer name.
In addition, you can generate a key listing from another computer by importing another system file, as long as it is NTUSER (DAT format) or SOFTWARE (SAV format). The details can be saved to a plain text document for further scrutiny.
XP CD-Key Finder is light on the system resources, using a minimal quantity of CPU and memory. It has a good response time and generates key listings rapidly. No errors were displayed in our tests, and the tool did not hang or crash. On the other hand, XP CD-Key Finder has not been updated for a pretty long time.
