Autorun.inf Check is a tiny and useful tool that scans your drives for the autorun.inf infected file and deletes it. It comprises many other useful functions as well.
Once started, the application creates an icon in the system tray area, from where you can bring up a simple window to configure settings.
You can perform only a search on the system or make the tool delete the autorun.inf file on sight, along with the executable linked to it. It is also possible to create backups to these files, in case Windows starts experiencing issues after the file deletion. Last but not least, you can create an unremovable autorun.inf folder.
More options of Autorun.inf Check let you fix the computer if it has already been affected by the autorun.inf virus, and build an EXE file Registry fix script (JS format).
In addition, you can scan for executive files that have the same folder name and specify filters (e.g. only remove EXE file with less than a user-defined size, create backups), as well as run a run a registry fixing tool and MSConfig, edit file attributes, and access Task Manager and Registry Editor if these utilities are unresponsive. These are just few of the options provided by Autorun.inf Check.
The program is very light on the system resources, using a minimal quantity of CPU and RAM. It has a good response time and finishes a scan job rapidly. No error dialogs have been shown in our tests, and the app did not hang or crash. However, Autorun.inf Check's interface is not very intuitive, so you may need some time to figure out how to work with it.
