Gammit!

Even though you can clearly see everything on your laptop screen, external light sources have a major impact on visibility. However, settings can be tweaked in order to adjust colors for better visibility and contrast. As such, Gammit! comes as a light tool with which to quickly adjust the gamma level on your screen.

A cool thing about it is that you don’t even need to have the application installed on your computer for it to function, so you can run it as soon as download is done, and even store it on a thumb drive to use on the go. No impact is made on the computer you decide to use it on, because it doesn’t need to modify registry entries to function.

It minimizes to the tray area on launch, and a double-click operation brings up the window to handle controls. General behavior options are available, such as whether to close to tray or quit the application, double-click behavior, run in silent mode, or reset gamma levels whenever you run the program.

As far as the gamma level is concerned, you adjust it through a value field which goes between 0 and 2.5. On the bright side of things, arrow keys can be used for fine-adjustment, and feedback is delivered in real time to choose the perfect balance, depending on external light sources.

Note, however, that there’s no option to make the application run with Windows, but you can bypass this by manually adding a shortcut inside the system Startup folder. You can just assign a hotkey command to its shortcut to quickly launch it whenever you need to adjust gamma.

Taking everything into consideration, we can state that Gammit! is a neat way to quickly find the right gamma balance on your screen, which is especially helpful when dealing with laptops. It doesn’t require installation to function, and quietly sits in the tray until you need to use it.
