TweakMP

Many applications used on a regular basis can be extended through plugins and other types of add-ins, so any user can benefit from fresh new functions that were not included in the default package. Among the Windows built-in programs that support such additions is Windows Media Player and TweakMP is a small but effective tool that anyone can integrate in their WMP version 9 or higher.

The installation is simple and the plugin is copied automatically in the corresponding directory, so when accessing the 'View' menu, the 'Plug-ins' section, users will be able to choose it from the list of 'Other' add-ins.

Customizing the running settings of TweakMP is also effortless, thanks to the clean and well organized layout of the configuration area. There are three different categories of options that users can tinker with and activate some handy features.

The Media Library commands can be set in such a way that when double-clicking an item it can be either added to the queue or played directly. Also, the SHIFT and double-click action can perform the same task, depending on the user's preferences.

There are two more choices available insofar as the double-click action is concerned, more precisely the selected item can be added to the Now Playing list only or the whole playlist and category that file belongs to can be integrated in the Now Playing area.

The CD handling behavior can be improved as well, so with TweakMP one can modify the file name separator and have the inserted disc played automatically if WMP is running and no other track is being played.

With regard to the full-screen options, this plugin can be used to set the behavior of Windows Media Player's controls and the timeout settings for hiding the mouse pointer and the controls. The transition style and speed are also customizable from TweakMP.
