USA Doppler Radar
USA Doppler Radar is a simple-to-use widget that supplies you with a map and weather details concerning any selected US-based location. These statistics are provided by the National Weather services.
The interface of the app is made of a small frame that you can move to any spot on the screen. Although there is no zoom function provided, you can increase the map size to get a better view.
USA Doppler Radar shows all kinds of weather details, such as tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, flash floods and special marine, along with the storm relative velocity and precipitations reported in the last hour.
Furthermore, you can toggle the display of rivers, highways, counties and cities. From the Options panel you can choose the radar location and establish the left and top offset for the cropped view position.
Thanks to the default settings provided by the OS, you can also make the frame stay on top of other windows, as well as set its opacity to a preset value, ranging from 20% to 100%.
The widget is very light on the system resources, hence it doesn't burden the computer's performance. It is very responsive to commands and ran smoothly in our tests, without causing Windows to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. To sum it up, USA Doppler Radar integrates plenty of options to satisfy all users who want to be up-to-date with the latest weather reports across the States, even though it has not been updated for a very long time.
