New in PCDJ DEX 3.19 (Oct 6, 2022)

  • The upcoming DEX 3.19 update will include a brand new feature called AIUnmixEQ. The new, exciting feature for DJs and KJs comes with the finalization of DEX 3’s audio engine refresh, which started with DEX 3.18 and concludes nearly a years’ worth of development effort.
  • AIUnmixEQ.
  • As the AIUnmixEQ name implies, DEX 3 uses machine learning (deep neural networks, a flavor of AI) to add Real-Time Unmixing/Stem Separation (Music Source Separation). This allows DJs to use the Equalizer knobs or kill pads to smoothly separate songs into 3 stems:
  • Vocals (High eq knob)
  • Instruments (Mid eq knob)
  • Drums (Low eq knob)
  • Our new AIUnmixEQ feature brings up new opportunities for DJs and KJs:
  • Live mashups and seamless advanced remixing
  • On-the-fly acapella or instrumental
  • Instant karaoke tracks from regular tracks (with or without
  • guide vocals)
  • This is just a tease, we know. Additional information and a more in-depth tutorial will be available around the time of release. There are addition upgrades included in DEX 3.19 that will improve performance, beat mixing, and sound quality.

  • In case you’ve been hiding under your DJ booth, you have already caught wind of the new online karaoke songbook feature coming to DEX 3.16 and LYRX 1.7.
  • The online songbook feature, aka remote singer/song request system, allows karaoke singers to access your songbook from their own web enabled device and make song requests that pop up within the DEX 3 singer rotation list.
  • DEX 3 KSR Online Songbook
  • The new feature has a name: KSR, or “Karaoke Singer Request”, and we’re ready for more users to download and try it!
  • Also new in the release candidate version of DEX 3.16 is a karaoke singers ticker/scroller (scrolled list of singers + custom message) with text color setting. Not only will this scroll your upcoming karaoke sings across the bottom of the screen, but you can add a custom message at the end (eg. wear your mask, special beer offer, etc) Example: Now Appearing: Ryan (Songname), Upcoming: Jane (Songname1), Joe (Songname2), Chris (Songname3) ** Wearing your mask is compulsory ** This feature needs to be enabled under the karaoke settings tab in DEX 3’s options.
  • Please note that this is a “Release Candidate” and features etc. are subject to change. This is also the ‘first release’ of the KSR system, with additional features coming after the initial launch. The total song count the system will host is caped at 100,000 songs for now, more than enough for most karaoke hosts, and eventually an affordable subscription option and tiers will be created.
